Job Description:

We are collaborating with this organization to identify a Senior Fund Accountant who will integrate into their Fund Accounting team. This role is pivotal in providing fund valuation and accounting services for private capital funds while ensuring full compliance with fund documentation, legal obligations, and relevant accounting standards. The Senior Fund Accountant will be instrumental in maintaining client service level agreements (SLAs), effectively managing deadlines, and ensuring adherence to operational policies and procedures. The position reports directly to the Fund Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual Financial Statements along with supporting documentation according to various accounting standards, including IFRS, UK GAAP, and US GAAP.
  • Manage monthly valuations and reconcile fund drawdowns, distributions, accruals, and expenses.
  • Conduct double-entry bookkeeping and ensure accuracy in the accounting system.
  • Assist with cash management and reconciliation for the funds.
  • Calculate drawdowns, equalizations, and distributions as per the Fund documentation.
  • Create Fund investor capital statements and perform IRR calculations as required.
  • Participate in client meetings and audit reviews regarding Financial Statements provided to investors.
  • Engage with external and internal parties, including clients and auditors, to facilitate the accounting of the Fund and tailored reporting for specific investor needs.
  • Support internal and external auditors through the year-end and interim audit processes, adhering to a structured timetable and audit requirements.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of existing business processes and procedures to maximize efficiency within the Private Capital Team.
  • Participate in group projects related to the implementation of new systems or platforms and the establishment of operational procedures.
Requirements:
  • Essential: Comprehensive knowledge of various Private Capital fund structures (GP/LP/Feeder) and the corresponding accounting requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting standards, including US GAAP, UK GAAP, and IFRS.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills to handle a heavy workload effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel and Word.
  • Desired: Familiarity with Luxembourg GAAP and broader regulations within the Private Capital industry.
  • Qualifications: A recognized professional accountancy qualification and experience in the finance sector, specifically in accounts preparation or valuation for equity, debt, and private capital funds.
  • Experience working in a multinational context and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines.
