Job Description:

This organization is in search of a Senior Fund Accountant located in Jersey. In this pivotal position, the selected candidate will oversee the daily accounting functions for one or more designated fund structures. Reporting to the Fund Accounting Assistant Manager or Manager, the Senior Fund Accountant will undertake a significant leadership role, mentoring junior accountants while ensuring precise financial reporting and compliance with all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation of accounting deliverables, assisting the team’s Assistant Manager or Manager.
  • Review financial outputs including payments, trial balances, bookkeeping files, financial statements, and audit confirmations prepared by junior colleagues.
  • Engage actively with clients and auditors to meet critical deadlines, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage the processing of payments in alignment with corporate policies.
  • Identify and address discrepancies in accounting records, communicating effectively with management to resolve issues.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc management reports to aid in executive decision-making.
Requirements:
  • A robust academic foundation coupled with part qualifications (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) and at least two years of relevant experience in fund accounting.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, capable of providing clear direction and effectively delegating tasks.
  • A collaborative approach to working with others, fostering partnerships that achieve common goals.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and proactively address problems.
  • Sound judgement and decision-making capabilities, particularly under pressure.
